20 year old Singer-songwriter, Talitha Boyd, found comfort in music at a young age during her formative years. Throughout early childhood, she began developing both her voice and guitar skills as well as a unique vision for her own music. Coming into her more mature years, she found songwriting to be a safe outlet to express her feelings and emotions. Talitha's distinct vocal tonality and vulnerable songwriting echo coming of age themes of nostalgia, heartbreak, and internal struggles. During the summer of 2023, she made it a goal to record and release an EP of her own work. Working with friend and fellow singer-songwriter, Noah John Wren, she released her five track EP in November of that year. This project, “Is This the Ending?”, marked the beginning of her journey as an artist. These vulnerable tracks were written from years of emotional ups and downs and while she claims these as her first body of work, she also recognises how much she has matured in her own writing since then. The following year, Talitha released “Your Ghost” after working with producer and folk singer, Nick Folwarczny. This moody ballad began to establish her folk leaning sound. Talitha performed her live debut in February of 2024 in her hometown of Columbus, Ohio with a small and intimate acoustic show with friends and family. Starting off 2025 with a single release in February, Sad Smiles was her first professional recording that created unique and insightful opportunities for the future of her music. Collaborating with fellow Ohio based indie folk band, Tyler Maddux, “Outgrow” released in May of 2025. After opening for Andy Squyres in Columbus that spring, Talitha spent the summer of 2025 playing around Columbus including 934 fest, Scrawl Fest, and headlining The Rambling House.
As part of Music Columbus’ Music Incubator program designed for up and coming local artists, Talitha is working on a new EP set to release sometime in 2026. Comparable to artists like Lizzy McAlpine and Tiny Habits, Talitha pursues raw vulnerability and storytelling in an attempt to connect with her listener. After spending a year in Denver Colorado, Talitha’s next season of her music is inspired by new themes of missing home, hope, and the pain of the unknown. More than ever, Talitha is excited about the songs in her back pocket, waiting to be shared.
